ACTION RESOURCES

Templates for all options are available and ready to copy & paste in the menu below.

  1. Find your local Member of Parliament (MP). Details provided below, just search your postcode.
  2. Make sure any communication to your MP has your full name, address of where you live, and phone number – this is very important, so you do not get a generic reply or ignored. Tip: make sure your letter heading or email subject doesn’t sound generic and shows you are not auto-generation or spam. For example: “Concerned local resident of [Your Suburb or Electorate Area].”
  3. Tell your local MP why alternative first responders’ matter to you – this can include personal stories and experiences, thoughts on what you heard at the action webinar, or evidence and research. You could also focus on a community concern, for example: Police-led responses to mental health or the impact of tough on youth crime agenda.
  4. Ask your local MP to take action – Choose the policy ask that matter most to you from the list provided in the templates and include them in your message.
